The WORD in Question [TWiQ] delivers a personal reflective learning journey using Rt Rev Laurie Greens framework for contextual theological reflection as defined in his book.
Use TWiQ to capture your reflections using Laurie Greens four phase process to reflect on your experiences. We display tips on each section to help you get started. But when you are comfortable with the process turn off the tips using the option in Settings. Also watch the videos to help get you started.
EXPERIENCE
What happened? Consciously recall your feelings and emotions. Don’t make any judgements, simply collect for yourself a record of the event or situation, as you experienced it.
EXPLORE
Create a detailed description of the experience. Immerse yourself in the analysis, be precise in details. Become more aware of your own values and perspectives that might influence your interpretation. Have others (whose wisdom you trust) contributed their thoughts?
REFLECT
How does our Christian faith relate to this issue? Use resources like scripture, hymns and worship, prayer, tradition, creeds, doctrine, poetry, commentaries and so on. The questions to ask are: “Where is God in this? What is He saying?” Be prepared to go back and do some deeper Exploring if you feel prompted.
RESPOND
How does God want us to respond? Be open to the Holy Spirit guiding your response. What new insights and understanding have you gained? If you were faced with the same experience again, how might it be different for you next time?
This first release focuses on the theological reflection methodology defined by Rt Rev Laurie Green which is practiced widely in the UK and overseas. We are working with other methodology authors to provide a selection of reflection methodologies suited to different situations.
